Delving into Editing

For our manga scanlation group Aerandria, I do most of every position there is, except editor. I serve as a manga scanner, proofreader, quality checker and a bit of japanese side translation. So it was with great excitement that I delved into the only position I didn’t do, which was editing the manga itself.

I started doing so with the help of Michan who QCed my work and told me on what needed to be improved upon. It was challenging work but there’s also a lot of room for creative freedom, which I love. Here’s one sample that I made while practicing manga editing.

My Manga Editing Example

The dark-haired girl is supposed to be Michan, while I was the one with a ponytail. Michan had several comments about my work; about gray scaling, rotating, etc. But she was miffed the most by the fact that her character is wearing a dress. ^^

Anyway, I’ve started working formally on a manga chapter for Aerandria and it should be out within a couple of days. My own creation… ^^

Okaa-sama, you’re so cool~!! ^_^ and so nice!

Your editing…is fine, I reckon. xD But then again, my own scans came out as blotchy, scrapp, and barely readable, so I’m not one to speak =P. But then again, I s’pose if Michan QCed it, all should be good.

Funnily enough, I have the image of you as the ponytail girl and Michan as dress-girl stuck in my head now. Can’t get it out XD. Michan will be wearing a dress in my mind whenever I chat to her now.
