Need Insomniac Cure

June 20th, 2006 | Comments

I just had my picture taken today for my ID, and I scared myself when I saw the end product.

I had red circles under my eyes. Yes, red circles under my eyes. Not black. Red!

I had to make a quick look in the mirror. It didn’t seem that obvious. Or maybe because I was wearing a pink and red blouse; maybe that offset my eyes?

Dear heaven. Now I know I am really in need of sleep.

Kyou Souma Update

June 16th, 2006 | Comments

I’ve been working hard again. This has to be one heck of a long day. Too many emails to send; too much stuff to do; decisions to think about. Now I need a break.

That Toy and Games convention tomorrow will probably do the trick. =)

Colored Contact Lenses

The area around my eyes was aching again, telling me that my near-sightedness has gone up another level. So that meant I needed to purchase a new set of contact lenses otherwise I will be getting these headaches on a daily basis.

Wanting to deviate from the usual, I tested out disposable contact lenses. I’ve always had contact lenses that lasted for close to two years. That or normal eyeglasses (see me shudder in fear).

Am I so vain that I purchase contact lenses rather than eyeglasses?

No.

The contact lenses that last for 3 months are really cheap (cheaper than the cost of 2 new paperback books), and their colored contact lenses besides. The eyeglasses, on the other hand, costs about three to four times as much, depending on the eyeframe.

But mainly, I chose to have contact lenses because my near-sightedness is so high that if I purchase normal eyeglasses, they’ll be as thick as the bottoms of two coffee mugs. Two coffee mugs! No kidding!

Can you symphatize with my situation now?

Back to the contact lenses. Guess what color I chose.

Green. =)

Actually, I chose a tri-color one. Dark ring on the edge, green in the middle and hazel near the center.

I find myself looking in the mirror more frequently the first day I wore them. It feels a bit strange to see myself with colored eyes. I’ve gotten so used to seeing black.

You should see the reactions of strangers as they pass by me. Colored eyes are very infrequent in the Philippines so I caused a lot of surprised stares and second-looks on my way to work. A lot of fun!

Another good thing is that I haven’t gotten any headaches since then. Wonderful!

So I’m thinking. After three months, what different color should I chose then?
