My gosh! I got an email from the bookstore I usually buy from that the new and last installment in the Harry Potter series will be out on July 21, 2007. The title is named Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and I am actually wondering how the series will play out. The darker side has been unraveling since the fourth book, unlike the first three books which were definitely for children.

Horror Movies
Might as well post as I am waiting for my upgrade of Wordpress to finish.
Jasmine lent me the Korean horror movie Arang and I watched it over the weekend. It’s been a while since I watched a horror film in which I actually had to close my eyes a few times. *looks at a grinning Jasmine* What? It was scary for me, the way her eyes were eerie. T_T
So Jas told me that it wasn’t that scary compared to The Ring and when I told her that I haven’t watched any of the The Ring movies, she gave me a dare. If she finds a DVD copy of that movie, we’ll watch it together. *cries and tries to hide*
I suppose the scary thing about horror movies besides scaring you while watching it, is the fact that they make you completely paranoid afterwards. Every little creak in scary, every gust of wind signifies a ghostly presence, every little sound in terrifying, causing you numerous sleepless nights.
And I have to agree with Jas that Asian horror movies are definitely better that the American ones. We watched The Nun before we watched Arang and I have yet to find something remotely scary with The Nun which is baffling since The Nun is more graphic and bloody than Arang, yet Arang is definitely scarier than the two. Just goes to show that more blood and gore doesn’t necessarily mean more terror.
Death Note
I am well and truly addicted. Hooked. Insatiably intrigued. People I know have been constantly telling me to read Death Note and for the life of me I continued stalling by reading other manga titles. I should have been kicking myself back then.
Death Note manga is absolutely hands-down the best manga I have read, ever. I have a soft spot for conniving evil geniuses who plan to rule the world by using their wits and common sense. ^o^
