Let’s Color~

April 3rd, 2010 | 2 Comments

Remember back in the days when you had various coloring books and the spiffiest crayon set ever? XD I remember those days specially when I happen to go to a bookstore and see all the new and colorful art supplies. *___*

It made me remember the various crayon colors back then so I researched just exactly what a 64 or 128-piece crayon set consists of… and I got more than I bargained for. Wikipedia list a ton of crayon color over the years. Some are the standard, while some sound fun and others just plain weird. Here are some of the colors that popped out to me:

  • Asparagus – What? There’s a crayon color named asparagus? Are they trying to scare the kids away?
  • Atomic Tangerine – I’m guessing this color just blows one’s mind? XD
  • Beaver – I’m sorry, but I’m thinking pervy thoughts. >]
  • Cotton Candy – So pink is not enough now?
  • Eggplant – Eww. Another vegetable color. Seriously?
  • Fuzzy Wuzzy – It sounds wuvly~
  • Granny Smith Apple – Hmmm. Are these fresh?
  • Inchworm – Are they trying to make us sick? o_O
  • Macaroni and Cheese – Yum, yum~
  • Manatee – Oh! A color named after an animal!
  • Piggy Pink – *giggles*
  • Razzle Dazzle Rose – Should I wear a feather boa?
  • Screamin’ Green – It’s not enough that it’s green. It has to let everyone know that it is!
  • Shocking Pink – What does she have to be shocked about?
  • Tickle Me Pink – Just as long as you promise not to bite back!
  • Tropical Rain Forest – Ahh, How nice to be able to pack the majesty of an entire rain forest into one color~
  • Unmellow Yellow – It probably had too many cups of coffee!
  • Wild Blue Yonder – Teacher, may I borrow your Wild Blue Yonder?
  • Wisteria – Does it come with its own set of desperate housewives?

Yes, I know. There’s a lot. There’s even more to go through from the complete list including sparkles, double colors, changeables and the like. So what’s your favorite color?

Phoenix Rising

August 1st, 2008 | 6 Comments

OK. So my comeback to this blog is not really that dramatic as the title suggests, but heck I miss writing here! It definitely feels like forever. It’s a wonder this little corner of the world hasn’t revolted against me for ignoring it for quite a while.

Let’s see… what have I been doing while I wasn’t here….? Being bewildered most of the time…

  1. I’ve been mistaken for a mangaka (manga series creator), again – Do I come across as talented enough to be able to draw my own manga? I can’t even draw anything unless I have a ruler, set of squares, protactor, compass and a drawing board.
  2. I’ve been mistaken for a manga publisher – This bewilders me to no end. Do I even sound like one? Wait. How are they supposed to sound like anyway?
  3. I’ve been established as an Emo magnet – This I could really do without. I never would’ve even thought about it until someone pointed it out to me. Why these depressed and terribly disturbed individuals seem to think I’ll be their salvation, I have no idea.
  4. I broke my DVD player – This one is heartbreaking. How am I supposed to get my bishie fix while trying to justify that watching anime is an effective way for me to learn Japanese amidst the snickering of my family members?
  5. I’ve been swamped with projects at work – I don’t know if the end of the world is nearing already but it seems like all of our design projects have to be finished today, as if Armageddon will start tomorrow. I wish.
  6. I’ve been trying to compile my scanlation wisecracks – I’m not ready for it yet though. I feel like I’ll have too much material to work with, it’ll probably end up as a multi-part series. XD Something like “Aerandria: Behind the Scenes”
  7. I’ve been fending off rabid manga fangirls – It’s a full-time job, I assure you. They vary from the ‘refresh the webpage every 30 seconds’ to the L33t typing ones, to the ALL CAPS typing ones, to the screaming bloody murder ones.

I wish I had some really good parting remarks but I don’t. taking over the world using smut takes up most of my brain processing capabilities.
