Love from Surprising Places

card captor sakura avatarWith my previous post asking help for my new project, I can’t help but be surprised at the amount of response I got. Feel the Love?

Sure, I offered to give them something in return. But what surprised me was the number of people who genuinely wanted nothing. They wanted nothing from me, except my friendship. There were people saying they wanted to be friends with me but that they were too shy or embarrassed to say so. Some wanted to call me their older sister. Some just really wanted to help me out.

It stunned me. Who am I to these people? How do they view me? Why would they do me a favor and want nothing in return other than my friendship? I, who they haven’t even seen in real life; who rarely get to talk with them, if at all. Why did they want to do me a favor?

I have done nothing special. I’m not rich. My writings are certainly never ‘novel material.’ I’m just something doing what I love on the internet.

I’m no one special.

The experience is humbling, nonetheless. I can’t begin to count how many times I’ve said ‘Thank you’ to each of the responses I’ve got.

I’ll keep this experience and tuck it in my heart.

Thank you everyone. ^^

Asking for Help

October 19th, 2006 | Comments

X1999 avatar iconI was in over my head. I realized that before. The problem was what was I going to do about it?

Obviously, I couldn’t make it all on my own. I needed help. But not many people will be willing to help me. So I had to bargain with them. I had to give them something that they want, so that they’ll give me something that I want. Ah, the classic Barter system.

Do you Love Japanese Manga?

So I found out the things I can do, that I can offer to people, so that they can help me do what I can’t do. Simple.

Pleasant Surpise

shinshi doumei cross avatarI decided to take a few days off from blogging, as you can see. Well, not necessary ‘decided to take a break.’ More like ‘procrastinated to post until the threat of death was issued.’ There goes my eternal sin of procrastination again.

So I took the time to look over my stats and what are the most searched keywords in the site. For months now, the top keywords were always ‘avatars’ or ‘full moon [wo sagashite]‘ which was nice to know. But a week before a sudden onslaught of keywords kept popping up on my stats. It had only two words.

Vampire Knight.

My mind blurted ‘What the hell?!’ That is among one of my top keywords and I only posted two sort entries about that manga?

I look over at Google and saw that there are over 4 million sites that talk about the manga Vampire Knight. And where is my post in that muddle of 4 million? I’m in the top 20!

*searches through Google again to check*

*looks around unexpectedly*

*sighs*

I guess the popularity of Zero Kiriyuu is not to be underestimated! ^^
