We’ve recently renovated our house and expanded through what used to be our backyard. We had my uncle come over from the province to help us construct and expand. We moved and made the kitchen bigger, which ended up in the color of rose and pink, thanks to my mom! ^^

We also added a walkway on the side of the house, just to house the pets and for them to run around in. It’s also a nice place to hang the laundry to dry. The whole construction really widened up our house and made us feel that we have more room to breathe.

It’s amazing how it was all done by my uncle and a friend of his. From the foundations, cement, roofing, even the sewerage. If we had money to actually hire someone from American Home Shield we would have done so, since they do great work. But even though it was a small job, we were impressed with the results.

Summer is here again and that means very hot weather here in my tropical country. Even though that means sandy beaches, tropical fruits and never-ending beach parties, it also means that a lot more things crop up during these times.

One of those things, are termites. Now I don’t know how or why they crop up during the summer, but they do scare the wits out of me. I once read this kids encyclopedia with pictures regarding insects and there was a picture of a termite lair with the queen right in the middle. Something like this. Oh, god.

*a moment of silence while she shudders in horror*

Now, imagine something like that living in your home. *screams bloody murder* I hate termites. Good thing there was a scheduled termite-extermination team for our compound. They went through each and every house, every nook and cranny to get to those pests. I remember there were termites between the walls of my brother’s room! O_O

I’m not sure what the pest control group was called, but in America I supposed they could be a group like Terminix which specializes in pest control. My hats off to you guys. I can’t get even near the scary things. >.>

I’ve been daydreaming again. I’ve daydreamed that I had distant relatives in the mystical country of Ireland and that some unknown grandmother from whichever side passed away and left me a house and a patch of land in a quaint little country there. Yes, the wonders of probate law. ^^

I’ve always been fascinated with Ireland; it seems such a magical place full of mysteries and histories. Leprechauns, dryads, stone formations, all set in a background of rainy days and lush forests. Definitely a plethora of culture and myths.

It doesn’t hurt that I’ve been reading quite a lot of Nora Roberts novels lately. Yes, that doesn’t hurt at all.

Just another of my wishful thinkings. But who knows? Maybe I can save enough from my overworking self to purchase that house and patch of land in that quaint little county. X3
