Memoirs

Reminiscense of the past events of my life.

A Sad Farewell

Shinshi Doumei CrossAs expected, my last day on the job was a varying array of emotions. And not at least one person was left dry-eyed.

I suppose that is to be expected. I’ve been with these people for almost two years. And to think of all our memories, camaraderie and foolish pranks, food and jokes shared, it definitely made leaving them a bit daunting.

A New Slogan

Remember the phrase “Talk to the hand” when you don’t want to talks or listen to someone? Well, Jas and I saw a new ad that I think will replace that in our vocabulary.

Meet my feet.

Dah, I have a twisted sense of humor.

Sight for Sore Eyes

Full Moon wo SagashiteThe most unexpected thing happened.

I filed a one-hour-leave in the office to have my right eye checked out because it was irritating me to no end. I couldn’t concentrate on my work because my contact lenses kept moving and it was disorienting.

So there I was, having an eye examination, fully expecting to receive a prescription and a pat on the back as the doctor sent me back to work.

That’s when things changed.

Oh, the doctor prescribed my medication all right. What I didn’t expect was for him to say I had a case of sore eyes and that I had to rest and skip work for a few days. I wasn’t expecting that. At all.

The next thing I knew I was in the office filiing for a few days leave and sickness reimbursement. Went down to the clinic several times to have my doctor’s signature. I was moving in a sort of haze. I never knew I would be taking a forced vacation. I was feeling giddy the rest of the day.

And then I received a most heart-stopping text message on my cellphone.

But that’s for another post entirely. =) I’m a terrible tease. ^^
