Japanese Lessons

September 16th, 2006 | Comments

Chobits avatarOur Japanese school personnel contacted me the other day, telling me that there is a Level 2 japanese class starting on the third sunday of September and asking if I was interested in enrolling.

I first thought was, “Yes. Of course, I’m going to enroll!” But when the initial excitement faded I started to think about it more deeply.

I enrolled on japanese classes before for several reasons. One is that I wanted to understand all the anime I was watching. I’ve been able to understand a phrase I am able to catch here and there, but I wanted to really understand.

Also, I was working in a Japanese company and had a japanese supervisor who I can actually practice my nihonggo on. You should hear us. I speak to him in nihonggo and he answers me in english. He asks me in english and I answer him in nihonggo. At least it shows that we understand each other. Such fun! ^^

But now I don’t work in a japanese company anymore; no japanese supervisor either. So who am I to practive my nihonggo skills on?

Sigh. But then again, I just can’t sit around at home all day on sundays.

Learning to Let Go

September 16th, 2006 | Comments

I’m being philosophical today. Here’s a thought I had after I read losing someone today.

The hardest part about having someone is not about keeping them. It’s about learning to let them go.

Yep, hurts like hell.

Japanese Manga Overload

September 14th, 2006 | Comments

Just a quick post.

If you find me missing here for a few days, it doesn’t mean I dropped off the face of the planet, or got kidnapped en route home. I’ve borrowed several manga titles from a friend and from the looks of it that will keep me quite busy. =)

  1. Hanazakari no Kimitachi (Hana Kimi) by Hisaya Nakajo – complete 23 volumes
  2. Yoroshiku Master by Tsukaba Sakura – up to Volume 3
  3. Meru Puri by Matsuri Hino – complete 4 volumes
  4. Zettai Kareshi by Yuu Watase – complete 6 volumes

The Art of Hana-Kimi Zettai Kareshi: Figure Na Darling

Above are some great links to the mangas I mentioned. Some of those mangas have been around for ages but I only will get to read them this time around. Thank God for creating friends. ^^ The sheer number of those books should be sufficient to tide me over the next World War or so.

I’ll try to add some scheduled posts here and there. But if you need to contact me, drop by my bomb shelter.
