I voted!

May 10th, 2010 | Comments

Earlier today, I did my civic duty and voted for this year’s Philippines’ national elections. It’s the country’s first ever automated elections which is slated to give it’s own list of advantages and headaches. The most common complaint I heard from friends was that the line was so long that they had to wait three hours just to be able to vote.

From my experience though, it was fairly easy and my main complaint was the scorching weather. It was just SO hot! >.< Oh, and the ballot was so long that it was awkward trying to fill it up. The main reason for this is because the Party List nominees list was so long considering we can only vote one. What the heck was that?! :O

Overall, it just took me about 30-45 minutes to votes, with most of the time consumed with the moderate line to vote.

I VOTED!

New Ultra Thin Eyeglasses

May 3rd, 2010 | 2 Comments

For me, I dread these times… the times that I need to go to an optometrist and get my eyes checked again. So we went yesterday to get my eyes checked and surprises of all surprises, my eyesight degraded to dramatic proportions. Again.

Thus continued the admonitions from various side of too much reading for me. I mean… I love reading! It’s my only addiction (well, next to eating XD). And c’mon, how can one do too much reading? I can’t get enough of reading!

So here’s a look at my new prescription glasses. It’s black and yellow~ Well, only the sides are yellow. ^^

My new eyeglasses~

I had to get a square-shaped one because my face is round. It helps minimize the overall appearance of my round face. XD They cost much more than ordinary eyeglasses because of the high refraction rating of my eyes and also because they’re Ultra Thin lenses. I can imagine that if I didn’t choose ultra thin lenses, my glasses would be even thicker than coke bottles. >.>

So, there I go getting in more debt… But at least this one was a very necessary expense…

Let’s Color~

April 3rd, 2010 | 2 Comments

Remember back in the days when you had various coloring books and the spiffiest crayon set ever? XD I remember those days specially when I happen to go to a bookstore and see all the new and colorful art supplies. *___*

It made me remember the various crayon colors back then so I researched just exactly what a 64 or 128-piece crayon set consists of… and I got more than I bargained for. Wikipedia list a ton of crayon color over the years. Some are the standard, while some sound fun and others just plain weird. Here are some of the colors that popped out to me:

  • Asparagus – What? There’s a crayon color named asparagus? Are they trying to scare the kids away?
  • Atomic Tangerine – I’m guessing this color just blows one’s mind? XD
  • Beaver – I’m sorry, but I’m thinking pervy thoughts. >]
  • Cotton Candy – So pink is not enough now?
  • Eggplant – Eww. Another vegetable color. Seriously?
  • Fuzzy Wuzzy – It sounds wuvly~
  • Granny Smith Apple – Hmmm. Are these fresh?
  • Inchworm – Are they trying to make us sick? o_O
  • Macaroni and Cheese – Yum, yum~
  • Manatee – Oh! A color named after an animal!
  • Piggy Pink – *giggles*
  • Razzle Dazzle Rose – Should I wear a feather boa?
  • Screamin’ Green – It’s not enough that it’s green. It has to let everyone know that it is!
  • Shocking Pink – What does she have to be shocked about?
  • Tickle Me Pink – Just as long as you promise not to bite back!
  • Tropical Rain Forest – Ahh, How nice to be able to pack the majesty of an entire rain forest into one color~
  • Unmellow Yellow – It probably had too many cups of coffee!
  • Wild Blue Yonder – Teacher, may I borrow your Wild Blue Yonder?
  • Wisteria – Does it come with its own set of desperate housewives?

Yes, I know. There’s a lot. There’s even more to go through from the complete list including sparkles, double colors, changeables and the like. So what’s your favorite color?
