Are You Scared Yet?

The thought of getting off my ass and trying to revamp my blog was a bit daunting when the thought first crossed my mind last week. The main points of concern were mainly where to get the inspiration and how to save all the CSS styling that Internet Explorer will eventually ignore; which, in turn, will require humongous amount of patience.

I think it almost came as a relief that I finished this new site design in less than two days. It is inspired by the series Lament and features one of the gorgeous colored images. It’s a non-fluid layout this time with a gothic feel. I’ve realized that in the more than five years that this blog has been alive, I’ve never really designed anything quite dark for it. I’ve done cutesy, edgy, minimalistic, flowery, among others.

The only main problem I had was removing the bullets in the comments. Everything works well in Firefox, Opera and Chrome. I’ve totally decided to ignore IE this time so if you’re one of most unlucky few, I’m sorry. I’m just too darn lazy to fix the design for IE. I guess my lazy ass is still not fully recovered. XD

Can you believe that this site has been online for more than five years?! That must attest to my love of blogging, right? XD Also, if anyone wants to apply for link exhanges/affiliates, please feel free to contact me.

Lament by Hu JingXuan

For me, going through rows and rows of books on a book store these days result in me being disappointed in not finding at least one book that catches my fancy. As a professed bookworm, that is extremely frustrating.

So imagine my surprise when I was browsing through rows of manga and comic books and found this since book with an artbook like feel and cover. What’s better is that it cost me less than $4 in full price! As I could never afford English-translated manga and prefer buying Japanese ones for scanlation, the book was a wonderful surprise to me.

The title of the book is Lament and was created by Hu JingXuan. It was originally in Chinese but was adapted to English by Chuan Yi Publishing.

Lament by Hu JingXuan

The summary on the back cover is as follows:

“Like the aftermath of apocalypse, angels stripped of their voices and heaven laid waste.”

Sin. Temptation. Rage. Regret.

Below, lost souls of the underworld grow restless. their murmurs, oncesilent, now overwhelm the senses with their deafening cries. As the sins of the mother who forsook her humanity to serve her new master are passed on to her accursed newborn, sixteen years on, the devil’s spawn walks on human soil unaware of his fate, even as ominous signshint of his eventual awakening. the day when the dark apostle crosses over and devours the world.
