Be forewarned that this is a rant, and I do hope an exhaustive one, just to release the irritation.

Kyou Kara Maou (God Save our King) is going to be available in local television in the Philippines soon. So what’s so bad about that when I was just raving on how great the anime is a few days ago?

It’ll be re-dubbed in our native language, Tagalog.

So where is the patriotism, you ask? Where’s the pride in being Filipinos?

It’s not about not being proud of the Philippines or its talent. It’s the fact that the anime series should be shown in the original language that it was made.

But wouldn’t that mean we have to read and watch?

Yes, but it also means you can learn the language and culture at the same time. Not to mention increase your increase understanding and vocabulary!

The greatest setback would be on how well the sentence and situation context will be transferred on another language. It’s a given that not all nuances and implications can be transferred along with the transition of the language.

*sigh*
