My Job

January 26th, 2008 | Comments

I suppose I should talk about my job a little bit, since I yammer on and on about everything else in my life.

I work as a Lighting Design Engineer for a Hawaii-based company. Basically, what we do is we take an inventory of the lighting system of an establishment, whether it be a residential, commercial or industrial structure and we give out recommendations on retrofitting to new lighting fixtures to save electricity and consumption to the customer.

We also calculate the Return on investment on each project, to see how many years before their investments pays off. We make several options for the customer to choose from to see which one they like.

I have to say though pricesin the United States are pretty expensive, especially for those Metal Halide outdoor lamps. One costs over $100 already! Though I guess in the long run, the investment will pay for itself since you’re saving your electric consumption thus lowering your electric bill! ^^

Which reminds me that I have to go to Hawaii on March this year for some seminars and trainings there. It should be a fun experience and I get to see new people. Makes me think that I should go the dentist and have my teeth checked. You know what they mean about first impressions. And what better way to impress than having pearly whites. ^^ Maybe I’ll even have those lumineer things put in for that extra white. Upon research, I see that lumineers prices cost a little less than other porcelain veneers which is a good thing since I don’t have much money to spend right now. Something to think about, ne?

And to do as she said, to the best of her understanding, Margaret set out for a walk on the Pacific Beach bars, with some of the other servants and their escorts, the waiters from the hotel. And before the next noon it was well known what a good chance there was for two young men to win as beautiful wives as ever were seen, to say nothing of the other greater attractions.

And very soon the sisters, Maud and May, were objects of universal observation. Yet it was very difficult to get an introduction, the young gentlemen all found; for the widow kept the beautiful girls very much secluded.

Numberless were the delicate attentions paid them, in the way of bouquets, books, and so on, sent by Margaret; and several cards to Mrs. Brownson, with the request for an introduction, accompanied by references—among which came those of Vernon Wadsworth and Harry Bennett.

Exercises

January 26th, 2008 | Comments

I’m trying to lose weight. Yes, a miracle in and off itself that I found the motivation to actually get off my lazy ass and exercise. Though I do think that all that sweating is good for me. I just wish I could find more methods in which to exercise with. *wink wink*

I’m trying to look at those exercise commercials and even those infomercials where they advertise exercise machines. Not that I could afford those, but it’s good to know what’s out there to determine what best would work in my stubborn case. It was just my fate to be saddled with hereditary genes of having wide hips. It is an extremely useful trait for giving birth but nothing else. Not that I’m having plans of giving birth anytime soon, mind you.

I’m also considering those Taebo stuff and even maybe experiment on various poses for yoga. Wow, meditation while exercising. Cool.

Wish me luck, guys!
