My New Manga

vampire knight avatarFinally! My new manga arrived today! Together with my little Mashimaro bee! I had to get the package from the post office but that’s fine as long as the package is in good condition. I had most of the morning to rave about it. As proof, here’s an excerpt on the messenger conference I had with Jasmine and Michan.

Cute Layout?!

January 30th, 2007 | 2 Comments

imageOh gawds. New layout! *trumpets blaring* It took up the better half of the day in making this new layout. Not because of the graphics, mind you. Again, it was my failing in CSS. I even asked Michan on how to get it right but in the end I remembered that I made something similar in a previous site I had before. *kicks self*

My feeling towards the new layout? I want to smoosh it! Yes, there’s no such word, so bear with me. The inspiration for this had been a long time coming, with browsing on a whole lot of sites for inspiration and even pictures. The cat pictures you saw before are the unfortunate products of my designing block. I even rummaged through my stash of stationeries, which horrifies me to admit that I still have today. And in truth the layout does remind me of a stationery letterhead. ^^

Sidenote: I still haven’t figured out something witty to put in the Girl section up top. Poke me if you have any ideas. And, though I’ve already checked them, if there are some areas that look awry, let me know.

So is there a purpose for this rant? Well, I still have an addition, no matter how measly. Here’s an avatar of Tamaki Suou of Ouran Koukou Host Club. ^^

The Elenium

January 29th, 2007 | Comments

I’m in a book-reading frenzy again. So much so that I can finish two paperback novels in a day. My voracious reading habits are scary and when I get the urge, there’s no stopping.

I’m currently reading The Elenium Trilogy by David Eddings. I actually read the last book, The Sapphire Rose a few years back. I borrowed it from a friend, and even though I was already reading the last part of the trilogy, I wanted to read the first two books because the story was intriguing.

I suppose that I should be honest and say part of the intrigue was the relationship between Ehlana, the queen and her champion and also protagonist of the books, Sparhawk. The two have a unconventional love story where Ehlana at age six falls in love with her then tutor and guardian, Sparhawk. They were separated but reunited again after ten years and it’s delightful how well the relationship turns out. I think I’ll stop there because any further and I just might blurt out the whole story. Go read it for yourself and enjoy. ^^
